About Craig Cottage

Looking for unique, high-quality accommodation?

Craig Cottage is nestled into its own secluded area on the Duff House conservation area border.

The pet friendly cottage was originally built as a folly to Duff House and has served as toll house for the Bridge of Alvah when it was the only crossing of the lower River Deveron before Banff bridge was built in 1779.

Located just 2-miles from Banff on the Moray Firth coast, there’s plenty to do in the area beside enjoying prime fishing and the great outdoors.

Craig Cottage is ideal for anglers as it’s a stone’s throw away from our breathtaking Salmon and Trout river fishing beat. Guests booking the cottage in February to the end of June fishing is included at no cost.Trout fishing is excellent late April and May with a real chance of a salmon in May and June.

There are excellent dog walks from the door.

The property boasts a south-facing, sheltered sun-trap with spacious patio, barbeque and garden furniture. The garden overlooks woodland and countryside. You can see red squirrels, woodpeckers, pine marten, seasonal birds and wildlife in all its forms from the kitchen windows. The borders come alive in May when the stunning Rhododendron start to bloom.

The living area has a wood-burning stove for cosy nights by the fire, Sky sports package and Sonos sound system. The bedrooms comprise of two twins and one double.

If you seek tranquillity the location of Craig Cottage makes it the perfect base from which to explore the Highlands of Scotland and the glorious county of Aberdeenshire. A truly beautiful spot perfect for family holidays and couple getaways.
